Kyrgyz National University
Established in 1925, the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the metropolis of Bishkek . Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn (KNU) is a large-sized coeducational Kyrgyzstani higher education institution. Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn (KNU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor’s degrees in several areas of study. On March 30, 1925 at the organizational Congress of the Council of the Kara-Kirghiz Autonomous Regionm the issue of establishing the Kara-Kyrgyz Institute of Education was discussed. After preparatory work, in October 1925 the Kyrgyz Institute of Education was founded in Pishpek. In 1928 the Kyrgyz Institute of Education was transformed into the Central Pedagogical Institute. On May 31, 1930 the Council of People’s Commissars of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic adopted a resolution on founding higher educational institution in the Kirghiz Autonomous Republic.
India and Kyrgyzstan
